Surrounded by Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights, Fort Hamilton is a neighborhood that sits in the southwestern part of Brooklyn. The area's historical importance dates all the way back to the American Revolution, and its namesake fort serves as New York City's last active-duty military post. Condos and co-op buildings can be found along Shore Road, as well as one-family detached homes on less traveled streets. The promenade offers excellent views of the shoreline and the Verrazano Bridge.
