In the center of southern Brooklyn, Midwood offers a combination of urban and suburban atmospheres. Long known as a predominantly Jewish neighborhood, Midwood houses several communites of more recent immigrant populations as well as former Manhattanites and those priced out of upscale Brooklyn neighborhoods. Single and multi-family homes prevail, though there are also plenty of renovated pre-war condo and co-op buildings to choose from. The Q line runs along East 15th Street, providing quick public transit to and from the neighborhood. A number of delectable Jewish bakeries deliver kosher treats and long lines form for a slice at Di Faro Pizza.
